The minivan is packed, schedules are cleared, and we’re hitting the road for a 10-day trip across the American southwest. In total, we’ll cross three states, explore numerous national and state parks, and cover around 2,500 miles of high desert terrain.
Over the last several years, road trips have become a family tradition. Traveling by air with a family of five can cost a small fortune so we have embraced the open road. There’s no better way to see the country than driving through it and visiting places you may have never come across otherwise.
Recent trips have taken us up and down the east coast of the United States, throughout the midwest, and down to the southeast. Last December, we drove to Colorado for a white Christmas filled with skiing. Not to mention, we’ve endured two cross country moves in the last five years!
We’ve been counting down the days and our trip is finally here. We are beyond excited to leave work behind for a little while. By the time this post is published, we’ll be nearing our first destination, Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico. Follow us on Twitter if you’d like to tag along on our adventure!
